All Things New: Faith from the Cloud

As more people turn to AI chatbots for spiritual guidance and emotional support, Leah asks what it means for faith to be shaped by something that cannot offer genuine human relationship. Speaking on All Saints Day, she turns to Hebrews 12 and the “great cloud of witnesses,” and makes the case that post-evangelical communities need to stay rooted in those who came before, keeping what is life-giving and telling the truth about what has harmed us. She names who belongs in that cloud: those who shared our struggles, chosen family, the people we’re called to repair relationships with, and us, for the generations still to come.

What might it look like to draw our faith from the cloud of ancestors, not AI?
