When: 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month, 10:30 am - 12:00 pm.*
*Special Note: Due to a conflict with Oakland Pride, we will not be having a service on 9/7/2025. Come connect with us at Pride instead! Our next service at Washington will take place on 9/21/2025. You can always check our upcoming schedule on our online calendar.

Virtual Hybrid Option: For those of you unable to attend or looking for ways to participate from afar, we strive to make each service accessible to every person, near and far. We use Zoom to share a livestream of Sunday services, so look out for our newsletter delivery Sunday mornings at 8am to get the details. Washington School is less than a 10-minute walk from Downtown Berkeley BART. Parking available on site. Lot is located on McKinley, south of Bancroft. Follow the Haven signs.
Each Sunday Haven singers and musicians lead the community in musical worship.
What to Expect:
First off, you can expect casual dress. We’re a very come-as-you-are crew. On first Sundays of the month, we have coffee and bagels to welcome you with.
Each Sunday gathering includes a time for adults to reflect together after the morning’s teaching.
The service itself generally includes a spiritual-but-practical teaching, and each week there is room for discussion for those who want to participate. All this is usually followed by "responsive worship,” in which folks are welcome to join in and sing to live musical worship, or sit back and listen.
For the Kids and Youth: Our gathering includes a time for children to have their own space and age-appropriate conversations. After announcements, we release our kids and youth to accompany our Haven Kids Director, along with adult volunteers, to a separate space for a story, conversation, projects and play.
Each service includes time for our kids and youth to gather with one another for spiritual exploration, connection, and fun.
Community Gatherings
When: Throughout the year, often on Sundays when we are not gathering for worship. (Typically the 2nd Sunday or occasionally the 4th/5th of (almost) every month.)
Where: Locations vary depending on the event.
What to Expect: In addition to our regular Sunday worship gatherings, we occasionally host special community events that create space for connection, celebration, learning, and fun. Some are organized by Haven, while others emerge from ideas and invitations within our community. You might find us sharing a meal, heading out on a hike, making art together, celebrating a holiday, or trying something entirely new.
