Sunday, August 9 | 7:00pm - 8:30pm
Our Community Conversation series is back! These gatherings are an opportunity to engage thoughtful topics together, ask honest questions, and learn from one another in a spirit of curiosity and respect.
We’ll kick things off with a conversation titled “Doug Wilson, Pete Hegseth, and the Growing Harm of Christian Nationalism.”
To help ground our conversation, we invite everyone to watch two pieces beforehand, each approximately 45 minutes long:
An NPR interview with Doug Wilson (content warning: references to sexual assault)
CNN’s documentary The Rise of Christian Nationalism (content warning: references to child abuse and sexual assault)
You don’t need to agree with one another or arrive with all the answers. Just come prepared to listen, reflect, and participate in the conversation.
Looking ahead…
This autumn, Community Conversation will become a three-month book discussion series, meeting on the second Saturday evening of September, October, and November from 7:00-8:30pm. Together we’ll be reading All Flesh Shalom, a thoughtful exploration of Jesus-centred theology rooted in liberation, expansiveness, and justice, written by Steve Watson.
If you’d like to get a head start, now’s a great time to pick up a copy. Our first gathering on September 13 will cover the introduction and Chapters 1-2 (through page 84).
