By popular demand, we’re working toward a more regular rhythm for Safe Haven! Our hope is to host an Open Mic Night about once every three months, giving performers time to prepare and our community something to look forward to. So go ahead and mark your calendars. The next Safe Haven is happening on Saturday, August 22!

Get ready for an evening of music, poetry, storytelling, comedy, and creative expression! Whether you’re hoping to perform or simply enjoy a night of local talent, we’d love to have you there. Invite your friends, family, neighbours, and fellow creatives. This is a community event, open to everyone, not just Haven folks.
Here’s the evening at a glance:
6:45 PM – Doors open, refreshments available (by donation), and performance sign-ups (if you didn’t sign up in advance!).
7:00 PM – Leah opens the evening with a 20-minute set of original and cover music.
7:20 - 9:30 PM - A variety of performances interspersed with a couple of ten-minute breaks where you can partake in refreshments and conversation.
9:30-10:00 PM - Clean up! (Extra hands always appreciated!)
We’ll have approximately 16 slots available total (sign-ups available below!). Advance sign-ups are encouraged, but we’ll hold some in reserve to give everyone a chance to participate!
✨ Food & Drinks: We’ll have baked goods and beverages available by donation, with all proceeds supporting Haven’s programs. If you’d like to contribute, you can also sign up to bring something sweet or sip-worthy to share.
