This Sunday, we'll be closing out the Christmas season with an Epiphany Celebration. Epiphany marks the moment when the light of Christ is revealed beyond the familiar, when the story widens to include seekers, strangers, and wisdom from unexpected places. Our service will reflect that spirit, leaning into reflection, symbol, and shared practice rather than spectacle.
As part of the service, we'll share in a Star Word Ceremony. Each person is invited to receive a single word, not as a resolution or a task, but as a gentle invitation for prayer, attention, and curiosity over the coming year. Some words resonate immediately. Others take time. Often they reveal their meaning slowly, through ordinary life.
We'll also be celebrating with King Cake, a traditional Epiphany dessert rooted in the story of the Magi and the long journey toward light. King Cake reminds just that Epiphany is not just about insight, but about joy, community, and marking holy moments with sweetness and abundance. Leah will be making the King Cake herself, and we'll share it together as part of the celebration.
Come help us close the Christmas season not by packing it away, but by letting its light carry forward.
