Welcoming the Stranger: Exploring Jesus' Immigration Ethic

📅 Sunday, October 26th
⏰ 2:00–4:30 PM
📍Location TBA

Join Pastor Leah Martens and others from the Haven community for the first in a series of quarterly conversations, which will be considering how the love and justice-oriented ethics of Jesus might speak to our most pressing contemporary issues. In this first conversation, we'll take a look at the topic of immigration and consider how a progressive Jesus-centered faith might call us into compassion and care.

These community conversations are open to all, regardless of religious affiliation, who are curious and would appreciate the opportunity to learn of a liberative Christian ethic that can respond to the harmful views of white Christian nationalism. We'll also offer calls to action and share opportunities for how we might all get more involved in supporting the immigrant community. No affiliation with Haven is required to attend these gatherings, but we do ask that all who are coming are committed to cultivating a safe, respectful space for mutual exploration and learning.

This first gathering will take place on Sunday, October 26 from 2 - 4:30, at a location in Berkeley TBD.

Fill out this form to share questions or to RSVP. Details will be shared as the event approaches with those who have RSVP'd.
