Hike at Fort Funston; April Connection Sunday

  • Fort Funston San Francisco (map)

This gathering is a part of our Connection Sunday series, which takes place on the 2nd Sunday of each month. On these Sundays, we take a break from putting on a traditional worship gathering and focus on activities that can further connection in the community. Haven attenders are invited to take turns facilitating this time, cultivating activities that nurture belonging.

Come join us in San Francisco at Fort Funston for a walk on the trails and the beach, beautiful ocean views, and time to talk on Connection Sunday, April 10th. (There will be no gathering that day at Washington Elementary.)

We will meet at 10:30am at the top of the stairs that lead to the beach near the hang glider look out area. This pin shows our meeting point. (We recommend arriving about 15 minutes early to find parking. If you can’t find a spot in the fort funston lot itself, there is parking on Skyline Blvd.).

Dogs are welcome, leashes are optional.

Bring water, sunscreen, and stay hydrated!

We are planning two walks that attenders can choose from depending on preferences and access needs.

1) Brent, the Jensen's dog Mochi, and Kim will go with the group on the hike down to the beach and along the ocean. The walk to the beach is about a 2 mile loop and takes about an hour to complete.

2) John will go with the group on the trails that are paved and wheelchair-accessible and go on about a 1 mile loop.

There is also an early option is to meet at 9 am at the Devil's Teeth Bakery for breakfast. It's popular; there will be a line. The bakery is located at 3876 Noriega in San Francisco.

RSVPs are not required but are helpful to assure that no one is left behind. Contact our organizers to indicate interest or to receive more more details: Brent Jensen or Kim DeWitt.
