Haven Community Discussion: My Name Is Pauli Murray (Documentary)

Pauli Murray image.jpeg

This month, we are transitioning from our recent practice of reading a book each month, to including other formats for monthly community discussions. In November, we invite all in Haven to view the new documentary, found on Amazon Prime, My Name Is Pauli Murray, and join in a conversation about the film. A description of the film and a trailer are included below.

Overlooked by history, Pauli Murray was a legal trailblazer whose ideas influenced RBG’s fight for gender equality and Thurgood Marshall’s civil rights arguments. This is a portrait of their impact as a non-binary Black luminary: lawyer, activist, poet, and priest who transformed our world.

We will gather in Zoom to discuss the film on Sunday, November 14 from 7:30 - 9 pm.

Contact Jeanne Wong or check the Haven weekly newsletter for Zoom info.
